Sarcoidosis
Sarcoidosis is a multi-system inflammatory disease that can cause an increased immune system response called granulomas, which are tiny clusters of white blood cells and other tissue. Sarcoidosis primarily affects the lungs and lymph nodes, but can also include other organs such as the eyes, skin, heart, kidneys and nervous system.
The LeBauer Pulmonary physicians can help you diagnose (though CT imaging, PET/CT, bronchoscopy and/or CT guided needle biopsy), understand, manage and decrease the risk of organ damage related to sarcoidosis.
Sometimes, sarcoidosis requires management with immunosuppressants to reduce long term complications. Your physician and specialized pharmacy team will work together to develop an evidence-based medical plan to help treat your condition with the goal for remission. Once your disease is stable, we will routinely monitor with labs, pulmonary function tests and CT imaging as indicated.
